Central Florida Reading Services is seeking an educational therapist and/or speech language pathologist interested in working with school-aged students with language disorders related to reading beginning the summer of 2018, with the opportunity to take on clients sooner than summer, if desired. Therapists will be able to make their own hours and use the office space of Central Florida Reading Services.
A qualified applicant would ideally possess the following credentials:
At least a bachelors (ideally a masters) degree in a related field such as speech language pathology, special education, or reading education
Experience working with school-aged students in a one-on-one or small group setting on educational or language goals
Knowledge of at least one reading program used in one-on-one settings, such as those published by Lindamood-Bell or Wilson, or overseen by the Academy of Orton Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, the Academic Language Therapy Association, or the International Dyslexia Association
The ideal applicant would possess the following qualities:
punctuality for all sessions
organization and preparedness for all sessions
timely oral and written communication skills for communicating with parents and other therapists
